We booked a private room with a king bed, I took a photo of this booking just because I had a sneaking suspicion they were going to play a shell game with me and they did. but some are still vendors and some appear to be offices for other businesses. Its basically feels like a run down shopping mall that they have converted different vendor stalls into guest rooms. You will find much better accommodations, food, and entertainment for the price and the social atmosphere could only be better than what we experienced here in the hotel zone. IF you are traveling through cancun just stay in the city, away from the hotel zone and take the bus into the beach. The food near by is poor quality and expensive. The very minimum of hostel standards appealing to the poorest of travelers with the goal of spending as little money as possible on accommodations while being as close as possible to the beaches of cancun. other than that heres the list of cons: no hot water, poorly designed rooms with not enough sockets close to the beds to charge accessories while you sleep, limited AC times, poor quality breakfast, awkwardly designed kitchen area not compatible for more than 1 person cooking at a time, no social environment, run down and dirty. With that said this hostel is affordable accommodations not even 5mins walking to 2 different public beach access points. If you are a traveler, backpacker, nomad just stay in the city away from this tourist trap mess. But its like the Las Vegas strip, nothing is real, everything is built for tourists and its priced to match that market. Great for families on vacation who are looking for all inclusive packages so they can dump their kids in child care and go get smashed on bottomless margaritas on the beach. The hotel zone is terrible for travelers. I cant be biased and make this about the hotel zone but I have to say at least something.
